How the Water Fairies Help Us Tap into the Flow of Our Emotions

Energetically, the mermaid-like ondines, or water fairies, are extremely powerful for us human beings, and water is super important for many different energies throughout our lives. As we are already 70% to 80% water, our body is exceptionally receptive and dependent on water.

The water element is closely connected to our health. If we have too much water, we might end up with respiratory illnesses or other sickness in and around our chest. If we have too little water, we can suffer from a lot of pain and dehydration-related issues, like back pain, joint pain, digestion issues, and difficulties processing toxins.

The energy of water is such an important element of our lives yet sometimes we forget to acknowledge or spend time contemplating it. Because, on top of the health and the physical energy aspects of water, it is also closely related to the divine feminine.

The divine feminine is super important for being in the flow, and allowing yourself to feel connected to your body, and to the current moment.

Water also brings some beautiful energies around understanding, receptivity, sympathy, connection to ourselves and connection to others. It’s an important energy to be aware of and to connect with, and the ondines, the water fairies, can help with this.

Turn on the waterworks

When we call on ondine energy, it allows water to flow, which in turn allows us to feel and process our feelings. One of the scariest things we can do as humans is to acknowledge, dive into, express, feel and release emotion. We are more likely to shut down our emotions than anything else.

The feeling of emotion can be terrifying, like it’s going to eat us up and we're not going to be able to keep moving. Some people feel like if they start allowing those emotions, they’ll never be able to turn the tap off, especially if they've been holding emotions in for a long time.

If you don't allow your emotions to flow, they can get stuck in parts of your physical body and cause all sorts of problems. Physical pain and physical illness can arise from the inability to release emotion. It’s incredible how often this happens. Almost every time I check people in my clinic, it turns out that an emotion is connected to a physical ailment or a physical issue. This emotional element often comes from a belief or unchecked emotion which they haven't allowed to flow.

This is why allowing a flow of energy through the body is super important.

If you're finding it difficult to process your emotions, imagine a tap on the top of your head. Picture turning that tap on and allowing the emotion to come through your body and out of your feet.

And no, you can’t pick and choose

Just today I was reminded that sometimes we have emotions, but we don’t always understand them, or we can't always articulate them. As a result, we might try and keep our emotional bandwidth small.

Yet, I just want to remind you that you can't have selective emotions. They're either all switched on or they're all switched off.

If we have a narrow bandwidth of emotion, we have a little bit of happiness and a little bit of sadness.

We can have ultimate happiness. But with that we must be prepared for ultimate sadness. If we want to have ultimate joy, we've got to know ultimate despair, too.

All of these are important emotions, and you can't select the range. You must have them all—or nothing. For many people this is a scary prospect, but if you think about it, if you shut down some of what we call negative emotions, you're actually shutting off the whole spectrum, and you're not allowing yourself to connect to your joy.

It's not that in order to feel joy, you’ve got to feel despair. Rather, you only understand and recognise what joy looks and feels like, if you have an understanding about what despair looks and feels like.

Once you allow yourself to acknowledge that you have the whole spectrum of emotions, then you can allow yourself to have some compassion for the emotions that come up that might not be the good ones. When you start to feel emotions that you don't want, remember you can turn the tap on and allow them to flow through your body.

Afterwards, you can give yourself permission to choose a better way of feeling. This is an important gift to give yourself in life. You have the ability to process emotion and then choose how you want to feel, so remember, the tap can bring through any emotions. They're only rarely going to eat you up or not allow you to move forward, and only if you don’t fully acknowledge and fully allow them to flow through your body.

The refreshing gift you give yourself

If you don't give yourself that gift of allowing your emotions to move through, then they can feel stuck and become tricky to process and release. This is where you can call on the ondine energy, the beautiful energy of water, to allow it to flow through.

Even the analogy of the tap over the head and allowing emotions to flow through the body is connected to the element of water. It's not just something we need to drink to make sure that we are not dehydrated. There's so much more to water than that.

Allow yourself to flow through time. Allow yourself to flow down the river of the story of your life. It's all water-based and so beautiful once you connect in, so do it whenever you can.
