What If Your Body Is Trying To Help You?

Jun 05, 2026

One of the biggest shifts we can make on a healing journey is to stop seeing our body as the problem.

Many of us have spent years pushing through exhaustion, ignoring stress, overriding emotions, and dismissing the quiet signals our body sends us every day.

We often believe our body is working against us.

But what if it isn't?

What if your body has been trying to help you all along?

In this week's Connection Series class, we explored the idea that our body, intuition, and life are constantly communicating with us.

Rarely does life begin with a crisis.

It usually starts with a whisper.

A feeling. A nudge.

A sense that something isn't quite right.

I often describe this as the feather.

The challenge is that many of us ignore the feather.

We keep going. We stay busy.

We tell ourselves we'll deal with it later.

And eventually the message becomes louder.

The discomfort grows.

The overwhelm increases.

Our capacity shrinks.

The invitation is not to wait until life forces us to stop.

The invitation is to learn how to listen sooner.

One of the questions we explored in class was:

What do I consistently deny myself?

For some people it's rest.

For others it's support, stillness, creativity, play, connection, or time alone.

The answer will be different for everyone.

What matters is becoming aware of it.

Because awareness creates choice.

And choice creates change.

Your body isn't failing you when it tells you it's tired.

Your emotions aren't getting in the way when they ask for attention.

Your nervous system isn't broken when it needs recovery.

These are all forms of communication.

The more we learn to listen, the more connected, regulated, and supported we feel.

This week, I invite you to choose one need that you've been ignoring and gently begin honouring it.

Not perfectly. Not forever.

Just for today.

Sometimes the most profound healing begins with something surprisingly simple:

Listening.
